A Liverpool move usually turns on one question, and it is asked at the survey rather than on the day. Can the vehicle get near the door?
The city sets three quite different versions of that problem. A city-centre apartment means a service lift with a booking slot, a loading bay someone else controls and a building manager who may not allow anything after five o’clock. A Georgian or Victorian townhouse means a narrow hall, a tight turn on the stairs and often a basement. A suburban semi means a driveway and no difficulty at all, right up until the residents’ parking bays outside the property you are moving into.

Apartments are a scheduling problem
Moving out of a city-centre block is rarely about the furniture. It is about the lift. Most buildings require the service lift to be booked, some restrict which hours a move can happen in, and a few insist on protective boarding being fitted before anything moves. Get that wrong and a crew stands in a lobby for two hours.
Our surveyor will ask you for the building manager’s details and sort the slot in advance. Bring that information to the survey and the quote gets more accurate.
Period houses are an access problem
Liverpool has a great deal of Georgian and Victorian housing and most of it was built before anyone owned a three-seater sofa. Narrow halls, tight returns on the staircase, and basements reached by steps that were designed for coal rather than for wardrobes.
What comes apart is agreed at survey, along with what goes back together at the other end. Discovering at eleven in the morning that a bed will not go up the stairs is avoidable and it is the surveyor’s job to avoid it.
Parking at the delivery end
Residents’ parking schemes cover a good deal of inner Liverpool, and a full-size removal vehicle needs somewhere legal to stand within a sensible carrying distance. That gets planned rather than chanced.
The survey
John McCormick carries out the survey and is usually the first person you deal with. He looks at volume, access, parking, timings and anything that needs special handling, then turns it into a written plan and a quote. The point of the visit is that nothing on move day is a surprise to either side.
Surveys are free and there is no obligation.
On the day
The crew arrive with the plan and the right kit. Furniture is blanket-wrapped, floors and doorways protected, loads strapped. At the new house furniture is placed where you want it and reassembled where it was taken apart, and boxes go to the room on the label.
Who is behind it
The service is independently audited against BS EN 12522, the British and European standard for domestic removals. Operations are planned by Mal Fleet Jr, a Class 1 HGV driver and Transport Manager. If a claim is ever needed, Office Manager Ashley Fleet handles it personally, and she has been with the business for 24 years.
