Our Accreditations

Independently audited. Officially certified. Trusted for over 50 years.

When you choose a removals company, you are trusting them with everything you own. That is why, at Britannia Fleet Removals, we have never asked customers to simply take our word for it. Every year, our systems, our training, our vehicles and our service are independently audited against the British and European Standards that govern the moving industry – and we have been passing those audits for more than a quarter of a century.

Our certifications are issued by Quality Service Standards Ltd (QSS), the UKAS-accredited certification body of the British Association of Removers (BAR). That means our accreditations are not badges we have bought – they are standards we have to prove we meet, every single year, through on-site assessment and annual surveillance audits.

25 Years of Excellence with the British Association of Removers

We are especially proud to have been recognised with a 25 Years of Excellence award, marking more than 25 consecutive years of certification to BS EN 12522 – the professional standard for household removals. First certified in November 2000, we have maintained that standard through every annual audit since.

Very few removal companies in the UK can point to a quarter of a century of continuously audited quality. For our customers, it means the company you are inviting into your home has been independently checked, year after year, for 25 years and counting – and has met the mark every time.

BS 8522 - Commercial Moving Services

What it is: BS 8522 is the British Standard written specifically for commercial and office relocations. It covers the planning, project management, security and execution of business moves.

What it means for you: if you are relocating an office, a warehouse or an entire organisation, certification to BS 8522 confirms we have the documented systems, trained crews and project controls to move your business with minimal downtime – from pre-move planning through to safe reinstallation. We have held this certification since 2009.

  • First certified: 5 May 2009 – over 15 years of continuous certification
  • Covers commercial move management, security, staff competence and duty of care

BS EN 12522 - Furniture Removals for Private Individuals

What it is: BS EN 12522 is the recognised British and European Standard for domestic removals. It sets out exactly how a professional moving company should operate when handling a household move.

What it means for you: certification confirms that our surveys and quotations, packing methods, handling and transport, staff training, vehicles, equipment and insurance arrangements all meet the standard – verified by an independent QSS auditor. When we move your home, every stage of the process follows a proven, externally checked framework.

  • First certified: 25 November 2000 – over 25 years of continuous certification
  • Audited and re-certified annually by QSS, a UKAS-accredited certification body

BS EN 15713 - Secure Destruction of Confidential Material

What it is: BS EN 15713 is the European code of practice for the secure destruction of confidential material, covering how sensitive documents and data-bearing items must be collected, stored, destroyed and documented.

What it means for you: our secure shredding service is certified to handle your confidential paperwork safely and in line with data protection obligations – with a controlled chain of custody from collection through to certified destruction. For businesses, this supports your GDPR compliance; for households, it is simple peace of mind.

  • First certified: 23 March 2017
  • Independently audited chain of custody for confidential material

Why Independent Accreditation Matters

Anyone can hire a van and call themselves a removals company. Accreditation is what separates a professional mover from the rest. Because our certifications are re-assessed every year – not awarded once and forgotten – they are a live guarantee that the service we deliver today meets the same exacting standards it did when we were first certified back in 2000.

As a member of the British Association of Removers, we also work to the BAR Code of Practice, giving you added consumer protection, clear terms and a formal route to independent dispute resolution should you ever need it.
